Reversibility Guarantee — LayerOps
Use Case
Reversibility Guarantee
LayerOps will never hold your infrastructure hostage. Your data lives on resources you own — your Git repos, your Docker registries, your S3 volumes. Export your entire stack to Docker Compose, Kubernetes, or any OCI-compatible platform, at any time.
Our commitment
You can leave whenever you want
Most cloud platforms make it easy to get in and hard to get out. LayerOps takes the opposite approach: every workload you deploy can be exported in standard, portable formats at any time. No proprietary formats, no hidden dependencies, no exit fees. If you decide to move to Docker Compose, Kubernetes, or any other platform — your data and configurations go with you.
Data ownership
Your data never leaves your hands
Your private Git repositories
Source code and configurations are pulled directly from your own Git repositories (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket). LayerOps never stores your source code — it stays in repos you own and control.
Your private Docker registries
Container images are built and stored in your own private registries (Docker Hub, GitHub Container Registry, GitLab Registry, Harbor). LayerOps pulls images at deployment time — it never hosts them.
Your S3 backup volumes
Backups and persistent data are stored on S3-compatible volumes that belong to you — on your OVHcloud, Scaleway, Exoscale, or MinIO accounts. LayerOps orchestrates the backups, but the storage is yours.
You hold the keys
Access credentials, API keys, and encryption secrets remain under your control. If you disconnect LayerOps today, your data, images, and code are still exactly where they were — on your infrastructure.
Export targets
Standard formats, standard tools
Docker Compose
Export your entire stack as a ready-to-run
docker-compose.ymlwith environment variables, volumes, and network configuration. Rundocker compose upand you're live.Kubernetes
Generate Kubernetes manifests — Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets — directly from your LayerOps configuration. Apply them to any K8s cluster.
OCI Images
Your container images are standard OCI images stored in standard registries. They work everywhere containers run — no LayerOps-specific runtime required.
Data & Volumes
Persistent volumes, databases, and object storage are exportable in standard formats. S3-compatible storage means your data is portable to any S3-compatible provider.
How it works
What reversibility looks like in practice
Philosophy
Your infrastructure belongs to you
Lock-in is not a business model — it's a liability. LayerOps is built on open standards: OCI containers, S3-compatible storage, standard YAML configurations. We earn your trust by delivering value, not by making it expensive to leave. This approach is also fully aligned with the EU Data Act's requirements for cloud portability and interoperability.
Try LayerOps risk-free
Full reversibility means zero risk. Deploy today, export anytime.
